Arcul de Triumf

If you are out and about by car in Bucharest and decide to travel north, you will come across what looks like the famous Arc de Triumph in Paris.

Located in the middle of a roundabout in the north of Bucharest and built in 1921 -1922 (and renovated in 1936) the Arcul de Triumf is one of the best known symbols of the Romanian capital city.

The Triumphal Arch counts among the monuments that were built as a reminder of Romania’s participation in World War I on the Allies’ side at the end of which all the Romanian territories of Transylvania, Moldova and Walachia were united.
