London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom.  It is one of the great international cities of the 21st-century city with history stretching back to the Romans who founded it in 43 AD.

At its centre stands the imposing Houses of Parliament with the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower.  Close by is Westminster Abbey, the site where British monarch coronations have taken place for centuries.

Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.
